Pandemic Pause Paintings
During lockdown, I looked for a way to find beauty in the natural world. We had an unusually gorgeous spring, and every morning I walked in the Petersburg National Battlefield. I decided to do a painting a day for 19 days. That stretched into 44 days, and it helped me to get through. The work was about simplifying, living in the moment and finding the beauty we can. Each painting was started with no agenda, and completed more or less in one sitting. I didn’t worry about composition or color.
